Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

San Mateo Catering Company (an asset of Fresh Pulp Holdings LLC, called "San Mateo Catering Company," "we," "our," or "us" below) treats personal information with the same discipline we bring to a timed buffet drop: nothing extra, nothing careless, and everything used for the purpose we described. This notice explains what we collect when you browse this site, request pricing for a mid-Peninsula catering order, place an order through the cart, message a coordinator, sign in to the client portal, or chat with the assistant on our website.

Browsing this site or sending us your details means you accept the practices described here. If any part of it concerns you, contact us before you submit an inquiry and a coordinator will explain your options.

1. What You Provide to Us

Most of the information we hold is information you typed in. Depending on how far you go, that can include:

  • Name, business or organization, email address, and phone number
  • Event logistics: date, delivery window, headcount, service style, address, on-site contact, elevator, dock, badge, and parking notes
  • Menu picks, dietary needs, allergy notes, and special requests
  • Billing contact, purchase order or cost-center numbers, and resale or tax-exemption certificates when they apply
  • Messages, replies, uploads, and coordinator notes exchanged by email, text, or the client portal
  • Reviews, referrals, testimonials, and survey responses you choose to send

We never require medical records. When you flag an allergy so our kitchen can cook safely, that note travels only to the staff cooking, packing, or delivering your order.

2. What Our Systems Record Automatically

Like virtually every catering site between Burlingame and Half Moon Bay, ours logs routine technical signals whenever a browser connects: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, session duration, approximate area, and actions such as which packages you expanded or whether you started a quote. Cookies, pixels, local storage, and comparable tools make that work. They hold your cart between visits, remember display choices, show us which service pages genuinely help customers, and support advertising measurement.

You can block or clear most cookies in your browser. That is your call, though the cart, portal sign-in, and saved-quote tools may stop working as expected.

3. Cards and Payment Details

Card and bank information is entered into a hosted form provided by our payment processor and is tokenized before it reaches us. Our systems are not built to store, and are not intended to hold, complete card numbers. We keep only what reconciles your order: transaction confirmations, the final digits, authorization outcomes, and fraud-screening results. The processor governs that data under its own security program and privacy terms.

4. How We Use the Information

  • To quote, schedule, cook, pack, deliver, and staff your event
  • To confirm details, send timeline reminders, and follow up afterward
  • To handle deposits, balances, refunds, credits, and tax paperwork
  • To run the client portal, saved quotes, and order history
  • To answer questions arriving by form, phone, text, email, or the website assistant
  • To screen duplicate or fraudulent orders and protect our staff and systems
  • To learn which pages, packages, and price points serve customers in San Mateo, Burlingame, Belmont, Foster City, Hillsborough, Millbrae, San Carlos, Redwood City, Pacifica, and Half Moon Bay
  • To send seasonal menus or promotions when you have asked for them
  • To satisfy tax, accounting, insurance, food-safety, and other legal duties

5. Who Sees It Besides Us

We do not sell contact lists. We do share what is necessary with the parties who help us operate:

  • Software vendors hosting this site, our database, email delivery, text messaging, calendars, and analytics
  • Payment processors and fraud-prevention providers
  • Drivers, event staff, rental partners, floral partners, and sub-caterers assigned to your event
  • Accountants, insurers, and attorneys advising the company
  • Government agencies or courts responding to a valid legal request, subpoena, or safety issue
  • A successor organization if the business or part of it is ever reorganized, sold, or transferred

Each vendor receives only the fields its role requires and is expected to protect that information and use it for our purposes, not its own.

6. Marketing Communications

With your consent, we may email or text menu updates, holiday ordering cutoffs, and mid-Peninsula event ideas. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and replying STOP ends text messages. Operational messages tied to an active order — confirmations, delivery windows, invoices, driver arrival notices — continue either way, because they are part of the service you booked.

7. How Long We Keep Records

Quotes, orders, correspondence, and financial documentation stay on file as long as they help us serve repeat clients and as long as tax, accounting, insurance, and recordkeeping rules require. Marketing contact data is kept until you opt out or the record goes cold. Technical logs cycle off far sooner. When a record no longer serves a purpose, we delete it or remove the identifying details.

8. Your Choices and Requests

Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we hold information about you and send you a copy
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or outdated
  • Delete information, except where law or finance rules require us to keep it
  • Restrict or object to certain uses, including targeted advertising
  • Withdraw marketing consent at any point
  • Receive the same service and pricing after exercising any of these rights

Email the address in Section 13 to submit a request. We verify identity first — often by confirming details from a prior order — and respond within the window the applicable law allows. An authorized agent may file on your behalf with proof of authorization.

9. California Residents

California law grants residents specific rights over personal information: the right to know the categories collected, used, disclosed, sold, or shared; the right to request access, correction, and deletion; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of cross-context behavioral advertising; the right to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and the right to avoid retaliation for exercising any of them.

The categories we handle are identifiers, commercial information about your orders, limited financial account data held by our processor, internet and device activity, approximate location, and the content of your communications with us. We obtain them from you, from your browser, and from the vendors named in Section 5, and we use them for the business purposes in Section 4.

We do not trade personal information for money. Certain advertising and analytics cookies may still qualify as "sharing" under California's definitions. To opt out of that sharing, or to file any other California request, use Section 13 or adjust your browser's cookie and Global Privacy Control settings.

10. Children

This site exists for adults arranging catering for offices, venues, campuses, and homes. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should contact us and we will remove the record promptly.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls, role-limited staff permissions, and vetted vendors to protect what you send. No internet system is perfect, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do commit to investigating problems quickly and notifying affected customers when the law requires it.

12. Outside Sites and Embedded Tools

Pages here may link to or embed review platforms, maps, video players, social profiles, or payment pages run by other companies. Their data practices belong to them and follow their policies, not this one. Review their notices before entering information on their properties.

13. Contact and Changes

Send privacy questions, requests, or corrections to:

We update this policy as our tools, vendors, and legal obligations change. When that happens, the effective date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use this site or our services after an update means you accept the revised version.
